PLAST 2012 reaffirmed internationality

The final statistics of PLAST, the International Exhibition of the Plastics and Rubber Industry
which took place in Milan from the 8th to the 12th of May, has mirrored the European economic context: stagnation in the domestic market, penalized by the on-going recession and partially compensated by export markets. The number of visitors droped from 55 175 (in 2009) to 50 593 (in 2012), but this drop was caused by the italians. The number of foreign visitors 2012 grew both in terms of overall numbers (more than 18,000, as opposed to 17,500 at the 2009 edition) and countries of origin (121 versus 114 in 2009).
The number of exhibitors increased from  1478 (856 italians, 622 foreign) in 2009 to 1514 (828 italians, 686 estrangeiros) in 2012.
