EP asked to support Bioplastics

Novamont presented a report  (available HERE) to the European Parliament on the contribution made by the bioplastics industry to the pursuit of a sustainable European economy and on the essential role of European legislators in fostering even further development during the conference organised by the European Bioplastics Association.

In his speech Francesco Degli Innocenti, Product Ecology and Environmental Communications Manager at Novamont and a board member of European Bioplastics, highlighted the importance of the Roadmap to a Resource Efficient Europe, recently published by the European Commission. This document shows the need to support the widespread use of biodegradable plastics and promote virtuous processes in the area of green chemicals.

“Support from European legislators will be fundamental if this approach is to be adopted on a widespread basis”, concluded Degli Innocenti.
